I am a voice specialist, working one-to-one and in groups with students of all ages and technical levels to encourage healthy vocal habits and clear self-expression. My deep understanding of vocal physiology enables me to do vocal rehabilitation as well as conventional singing teaching, and I work with teachers, speakers, presenters and actors as well as singers of many styles of music and all ages. Since training in clinical hypnosis, hypnotherapy and NLP with Lisa Morgan, profound insights have subtly transformed and clarified my teaching, to enhance students' vocal communication and boost confidence, effectiveness and consistency.
Creative imagining is traditional in the teaching of voice skills, since there is no conscious control of the delicate muscle coordinations involved. NLP communication techniques enable me to increase the number of 'aha!' moments for my students. My teaching supports each student's development of their own unique, private toolset.
Based in Cumbria, UK, I am a member of the British Voice Association, Association of Teachers of Singing, Association of English Singers And Speakers, National Association of Teachers of Singing (USA) and the Musicians’ Union.
